Questions & answers
The things people ask us most. Can't find your answer? Write to us — a real person replies.
Are your rugs really vintage and handmade?
Yes. Every rug is hand-knotted or hand-woven, and most were made between the 1960s and 1990s in Anatolia. We don't sell machine-made or new copies.
How old is my rug exactly?
Vintage rugs rarely come with paperwork, so we give an honest estimate based on materials, dyes and wear — for example "about 1970s". If age matters for your decision, ask us and we'll tell you what we know.
Is the rug cleaned before it ships?
Yes. Every rug is professionally washed and dried before it's photographed, so it arrives ready to use.
Will the colors look like the photos?
We photograph every rug in daylight and don't filter the pictures. Still, screens differ — if you're unsure, message us on WhatsApp and we'll send extra photos or a short video.
How accurate are the sizes?
Each rug is measured by hand. Handmade rugs are rarely perfectly square, so allow for a difference of a few centimeters (about an inch).
How long does delivery take?
About 7 business days: we ship within 3 business days and FedEx delivers in about 4 more. Shipping is free to almost every country.
Will I have to pay import duties?
Possibly. Duties and taxes depend on your country and are paid on delivery, usually to FedEx. They aren't included in our price. See Shipping & delivery for details.
Can I return a rug?
Yes, within 14 days of delivery. Return shipping is paid by the buyer, and you get your money back within 7 business days after the rug arrives and is checked.
Which payment methods do you accept?
Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Link and Amazon Pay. Payments are processed securely by Stripe — we never see your card number.
Is it safe to buy here?
Yes. RUGS KILIM LLC is a registered US company, payments run through Stripe, and every rug can be returned within 14 days.
Do I need a rug pad?
We recommend one. It stops the rug from slipping, protects your floor and makes the rug last longer.
How do I care for a vintage rug?
Vacuum it regularly without the beater brush, rotate it every few months so it wears evenly, and blot spills right away with a damp cloth. For a deep clean, use a professional rug cleaner.
Can you hold a rug for me?
We can't reserve rugs — the first person to complete their order gets it. If you love one, don't wait too long.
